What happens if a cadet is arrested?

When an arrest occurs, the program treats it as a situation that may affect a cadet’s ability to participate safely and in line with standards. The immediate action is to place the cadet on suspension from the program while the matter is reviewed. This precaution protects other cadets and maintains the integrity of the program, allowing due process to run its course without the cadet continuing in duties that could be affected by the charges. Promoting a cadet after an arrest would send the opposite signal and is not consistent with safeguarding the program. Allowing a cadet to continue without any interruption would undermine safety and standards during an ongoing investigation. Requiring counseling is not the automatic outcome of an arrest in this context; while support services may be involved in broader welfare or remediation plans, suspension is the standard immediate response reflected here.
